Well, yes, this is the ruthless part of the program....replacing existing talent with new talent whenever it can be upgraded. Seems horrible to contemplate, staff is always looking over their shoulder, etc. But it is no less horrible than when customers change your products for a competitor's. The risks are the same: loss of games / loss of business. Customers expect progress and organizations should too. Standards change. The Patriots work at upgrading their capabilities every day. Businesses should do the same.
The Patriots didn't win the Super Bowl in 2018. They were outplayed by the Eagles. But they will be back in 2019 with renewed fundamentals, ambitions and talent.
